Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and has over a decade of experience handling complex commercial litigation, business law and transactions, real estate transactions, and estate planning/probate matters, including will and trust contest matters.
Jennifer also has experience with providing general counsel services and advice to various Metro-Detroit area businesses, assisting with corporate entity organization and governance, financing matters, acquisitions/sales, licensing, and day-to-day administrative matters. Her experience specifically includes analysis, negotiation, preparation, and litigation of contracts and transactional documents, litigation of fraud/misrepresentation matters, due diligence review, investment/loan analysis and documentation, pharmacy audits and related litigation, defense of product liability matters, defense of premises liability matters, and liquor license transactions. Jennifer's experience also includes providing legal services and business advice to public pension systems as special counsel relating to various areas of law, including, but not limited to: complex commercial litigation, and Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act matters.
Jennifer is currently President of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers (since 2017) and is an active member of WBA-Oakland. Jennifer was elected to the SBM Representative Assembly for Circuit 6, Oakland County in June 2020, and is currently serving a second term. Jennifer is an Oakland County Bar Foundation Fellow, a professional distinction limited to less than 5% of the total active membership of the State Bar of Michigan who practice in Oakland County. Jennifer has also participated in the Oakland County Bar Association Inns of Court (2022-2023). She was recognized as Member of the Year by WBA-Oakland in 2024 and also obtained a certificate from ICLE’s Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program in 2017. Jennifer has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Business Law from 2017 to present. Jennifer was also recently recognized by Best Lawyers in the 2024 Best Lawyers/The Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation. Jennifer also previously served as member of the SBM Representative Assembly for Circuit 3, Wayne County.
Jennifer is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Jennifer has been admitted pro hac vice in various jurisdictions, including: the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida, Miami Division; the Circuit Court of St. Louis County, State of Missouri; and the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming.
Jennifer volunteers twice a year with Focus:HOPE. She is also involved with the Michigan State University Alumni Association and MSU Alumni of Metro Detroit (Detroit Spartans) and has volunteered at UDM Law as a Moot Court Judge and mentor to law students.
Prior to starting her own firm, Jennifer's past employment includes work at a Birmingham firm specializing in business litigation, and before that, work at a Livonia firm specializing in complex commercial litigation. Jennifer also worked at a boutique Detroit firm specializing in public pension system representation, business and real estate law.
Jennifer is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Relations.
